Sheffield Bleep was founded in January 2006 by Chris Smith, a Sheffield based DJ and electronic music producer. The name Sheffield Bleep was inspired from Yorkshire Bleeps and Bass (Yorkshire Techno) a short-lived (1989-1991) local music movement in the city of Sheffield, UK.

Playing music by artists on labels such as Planet-µ, Ninja Tune, Rephlex, Schematic and Warp, Sheffield Bleep brings together the best electronic music into one convenient listening post. Armed with an enviable collection of records and a vast knowledge of the scene, Sheffield Bleep showcases exclusive DJ mix shows, hard to find records and label samplers, many sent straight from the artists/labels themselves.
However, it's not all about the latest Warp/Rephlex releases or repeating the same old classics. Sheffield Bleep is keen to discover and promote new music and undiscovered talent from around the globe, be it DJ mixes or a fresh new electro cut. You will also find underground Hip-Hop, Breaks & Turntablism being thrown into the schedule on a regular basis.
